Just days before the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 it would appear as though no game is safe these days from a potential leak or upload onto the wide web, MW3 is no different

A grand total of 16 map layouts have been leaked for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 showcasing the variety that's going to be on offer once players get their hands on it.

The maps feature the same original names being listed as Arkaden, Downturn, Hardhat, Resistance, Bootleg, Dome, Lockdown, Seatown, Bakaara, Fallen, Mission, Underground, Carbon, Interchange, Outpost and Village.

While it's hard to gain a true sense of scale with some of these maps eyes will certainly be focused on whether they'll be able to compete with Battlefield 3's expansive landscapes that have had players hooked since their trailers started appearing. Of course Modern Warfare 3 has its own tricks to deliver with the stunning Tango Down multiplayer trailer.

It's unclear what each of these maps will look like in the flesh but you can get a fairly rough idea from the layout and some look set to be real corkers, with tight twists and proper hand-to-hand combat moments sure to make an appearence.
