Three has confirmed that it’s planning to unleash Android 2.3 Gingerbread onto the HTC Desire, with its punters likely to get the latest Google mobile software by the end of April.
While Three said on Twitter that it didn’t have official timescales yet, it’s widely believed that the update will be good-to-go by the end of the month. Gingerbread was fist released alongside the Google Nexus S back in December 2010.
The updated OS is snappier, crams in NFC support, a tweaked UI and improved copy and paste functionality. With Three pushing this update out, it’s likely that other networks will not be that far behind.
