FIFA 12 Android: Sony Ericsson Xperia Play exclusive revealed

The FIFA 12 release date has added a new platform with the Android version of the game set to launch exclusive to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

Ahead of the FIFA 12 UK release date, Sony Ericsson has revealed it is to exclusively offer the football sim to Android users who tout the PlayStation certified Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.

Having secured an exclusive deal with EA Mobile, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will play host to an optimised version of the eagerly awaited addition to the football franchise with users able to make use of the Xperia Play’s PlayStation-esque control pad.

“FIFA 12 will undoubtedly be one of this year’s most popular games and Xperia™ PLAY consumers will be able to master it before any other Android users,” said, Dominic Neil-Dwyer, Head of Market Development for Sony Ericsson. “FIFA 12 adapts perfectly to the device and delivers the best football experience on Android.”

Whilst Sony Ericsson has failed to confirm when it is to first offer the optimised version of FIFA 12 it has revealed its Android exclusivity on the title will expire on February 21st, almost five months after the FIFA 12 UK release date for the PS3, Xbox and PC versions of the game. A FIFA 12 demo is due to be released for console gamers this week.
