Samsung M8800 Pixon handset launches
Phone with camera? Or camera with phone?
If you're looking to upgrade both your phone and your compact camera, Samsung could save you a few quid with the newly-launched M8800 Pixon.
Yes, the latest feature-heavy phone from the Korean giant goes big on photography, throwing in an 8MP camera with auto focus, face recognition, smile detection, blink detection, reduced shake, shoZu upload, GPS tagging and WVGA movies. In fact, we're not sure if this is a phone with camera or a camera with phone. But as it's advertised as the former, we'll go along with that.
Of course, as a Samsung phone, it also offers everything but the kitchen sink in that area too, including HSDPA connectivity, a 3.2-inch touchscreen (with landscape option), GPS receiver, Bluetooth and all the media playback you could ask for. Lacking Wi-Fi though, which could be a deal breaker. A price of around £400 is quoted for its November launch, but let's be honest, this has 'free phone with contract' written all over it.
