First song created using just iPhone apps, and the Mentalists' ingenuity

Just four apps used to create perfect Radio 1 music...

Bringing a whole new meaning to playing music from your Apple device, all-female band the Mentalists took things a little more literally by reaching for their iPhones to belt out a cover of MGMT’s track “Kids”.

The psychedelic pop lovelies, with touchscreen beauties in hand, used apps Ocarina, Retro Synth, miniSynth and DigiDrummer Lite all downloaded from the application store, and created an ingenious performance of the catchy commercial hit.

You can see the video of their iPhone musical antics below in what we think is an admirable homage to the recent radio playlist favourite.

Speaking on their MySpace account, they said of the video "we Mentalists got our paws on either an Iphone or Itouch and downloaded musical instrument applications of Drums, Bass, Synth and Ocarina....(Those Iphones can do ANYYYTHING!) Then putting them altogether we made KIDS! (Fathered by our favourites - MGMT)"
