Microsoft’s revolutionary new mobile OS is set to arrive on October 11th according to ‘multiple’ sources.

One of the unnamed senior figures that site Pocket Lint spoke to, claims Windows Phone 7 handsets will follow later in the month.

LG, Asus, Samsung, Dell and HTC have all signed up to the Windows Phone 7 cause, as Microsoft attempts to rival Apple and Google's stellar mobile OS offerings.

Among the most notable features, Windows Phone 7 will introduce hubs for your different web content needs, multitouch support and Xbox Live integration.

Microsoft's latest advert surfaced on the web this week, providing further evidence that Microsoft's mobile OS is nearing on the horizon. You can see the Windows Phone 7 advert below.
