HTC Incredible S coming to the UK Q2 2011

Industrial metal and rubberised HTC heads to Blighty

HTC Incredible S fills a gap between the Desire and the Desire HD, say HTC.

The HTC releases at MWC are coming thick and fast now, with the HTC Desire S, Wildfire S, Flyer Tablet and the Facebook-centric twosome of the HTC Cha Cha and the HTC Salsa flooding out in the last few hours. Latest among them: the follow-up to the previously US-only HTC Incredible, the HTC Incredible S.

The Incredible S is, according to HTC, positioned between the HTC Desire and the Desire HD. It runs a 1GHz processor, 768MB RAM, and packs an 8MP camera and a 4-inch touchscreen (which, in size terms, does place smack bang in the middle of the Desire's 3.7 and the Desire HD's 4.3 inchers).

HTC calls the design of the Incredible S "industrial", hewn as its close relatives are from a single block of aluminium, but now featuring raised, angular details on its back and rubberised finish.

The Incredible S will come running Android 2.2 FroYo out of the box, although an update to 2.3 Gingerbread is in the works according to HTC. There's no specific release date as yet, but HTC are promising sometime early in Q2 this year.
