The upcoming release of Gran Turismo 5 will be the biggest selling PlayStation 3 title of the year surpassing the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops and FIFA 11, new reports suggest.

“We’ve never seen anything like this before,” declared Philip Driver, Marketing Manager of Online games retailer ShopTo.net. “As soon as the new release date was announced the sales just went through the roof. This is a game that most PS3 owners have been waiting a long time for.”

Following a production process that took five years and $60 million, Gran Turismo 5 looks to have put its repeated delays behind it with November 24th, next Wednesday, now lined up as its latest official arrival.

The long awaited racing sim will allow users to get behind the wheel of more than 1,000 cars ranging from the standard production models up to the ultimate high-end supercars further enhanced my the ground-breaking graphical quality and stereoscopic 3D compatibility.

"Our objective with GT5 was to create another great revolution which would not only satisfy our own high expectations, but would meet or even exceed the anticipation of the fans." said Kazunori Yamauchi, president of Polyphony Digital Inc on the latest addition to the Gran Turismo franchise.

ShopTo.net is offering pre-orders of GT5 at a current market low of just £34.85 with all pre-orders being automatically entered into a competition to win a cupercar experience race day worth £900.
