Android tablet from Toshiba launching in September?

Rumoured 10-inch slate will run Nvidia's Tegra 2 processor

Will it have what it takes to trump the iPad?

Rumours abound this morning that Toshiba is only a month or two away from unleashing an Android-powered tablet. The word from DigiTimes is that the company is set to tackle Apple’s iPad with a September or October launch.

The alleged specs are thin on the ground, but it’s said to sport Android 2.2, have a 10-inch screen and run on Nvidia's nippy Tegra 2 processor.

The source is the tablet’s supposed Taiwanese manufacturers, but there’s been no official word from Toshiba. That said, an Android tablet isn’t beyond comprehension, and is a logical move from Tosh, who’s last foray into the market was the JournE tablet in 2009, pictured above.

Will it work? Let us know on the T3 Twitter Feed.
