Having been officially unveiled at Apple’s San Francisco based press conference today, the iPad 2 will be available to purchase in the UK from March 25th.

Available in the standard black or a new white colour forms, the second-generation iPad tablet device will be available in the UK two weeks after it touches down in the US next Friday, March 11th with prices emulating the original Apple tablet and kicking off at $499.
Set to come sporting the widely expected rear-mounted camera with video recording capabilities and a second, front-facing snapper compatible with Apple’s cross device FaceTime video calling technology, the iPad 2 was officially unveiled by Steve Jobs despite the Apple CEO currently undertaking a medical-induced leave of absence.
Joining the dual cameras on the plumped spec of the iPad 2, eager tablet upgraders will be able to benefit from an improved, higher speed dual-core processor as well as enjoying the device’s new slimmer, lighter form factor that lines up at just 8.8mm thick and only 589grams in weight.
To be made available direct from Apple’s physical and online stores as well as third party retailers and networks the updated iPad will, like its predecessor be available with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage capacities.
