Acer Stream landing 3 August

Expansys slaps Android 2.1 effort with release date

Top-end smartie announced in May is just around the corner according to retailer.

The Acer Stream will be up for grabs on 3 August. That’s the word from online retailer Expansys, which has a track record in slapping top new phones with release dates.

Costing £399 SIM-free, the phone comes replete with Android 2.1, Dolby Mobile,, 720p video recording, a 1GHz Snapdrahon processor and 2GB of storage. As such, it’s Acer’s headline handset.

On top of all that you’ll also find Acer’s 3D UI, a 3.7-inch AMOLED panel and even an HDMI port for slapping your clips onto your TV.

Fingers crossed the Stream will top disappointing efforts like the beTouch and Liquid, neither of which managed to live up to the hype. With a spec sheet like that though, we’re pretty hopeful.
