Sony's Playstation 4 release is still “quite some time off” says the PlayStation US Chief Jack Tretton. With rivals set to bring their new consoles to market, this may be little more than sales ploy. In the meantime, a new low-wattage lighter PS3 has been confirmed.

Developers for the upcoming Wii U have been instructed to make games for a single controller. The current Wii wands will form any additional controllers. The company behind GTA and LA Noire, Take two, have confirmed, they will not be transferring the aforementioned titles to Wii U.

Apple, according to speculation, looks set to refresh its Mac Pro and Mac Mini machines at the end of July or early August, both of which are likely to be just updates of innards. An iPad 2 rivalling 7-inch dual-core tablet has been announced in the form of the Huawei MediaPad, the first to run Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

Google Photovine, a new image sharing service, could be launched soon. Likely to emulate photo sharing mobile apps, with easy uploading and the chance to look at other users' snaps wherever you are. Facebook Music looks set for launch, by linking your chosen streaming service up to your account you'll be able to play and control your music through a set of controls at the bottom of the page.
