Sony NEX-7 interchangeable lens compact outed

New top-end NEX snapper revealed

Sony's back with a new interchangeable lens compact and it's better than ever.

Sony’s NEX interchangeable lens compacts took the world by storm last year. And now the Big S is back with a new top-end effort in its NEX range: the NEX-7.

As well as being loaded up with 24.3 megapixels, the NEX-7 is chock full of top-end smarts, including Full HD movie mode, which can now be used with manual focus. Videos can be shot in full manual mode, with sound quality also improved compared to 2010’s NEX-5.

There’s a 3-inch OLED panel slapped on the back, with 100 per cent frame coverage to ensure you see exactly what you’re snapping every time. There’s 10 frames per second continuous shooting to match Sony’s new A65 DSLR, alongside a rather nippy 0.02 second release time lag, for getting off different shots as quickly as possible.

The NEX-7 hasn’t been slapped with a price tag yet, but it’ll be out in November, so there’s time yet for you to get saving. Tell us what you think of the NEX-7 now on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
