PSN: Sony online gaming service still down

Latest blog post offers little detail on problems

Rumours fly about reasons for PSN outage.

Sony’s PSN nightmare is continuing this morning, with the online gaming service and the Qroicity streaming package both still down and explanations for the outage in short supply. The Big S has once again posted an official update on its PlayStation blog, but there’s no news on when PSN will up and running again.

Sony’s Patrick Seybold used the official blog to come straight to the point, “I know you are waiting for additional information on when PlayStation Network and Qriocity services will be online. Unfortunately, I don’t have an update or timeframe to share at this point in time,” he said.

“As we previously noted, this is a time intensive process and we’re working to get them back online quickly. We’ll keep you updated with information as it becomes available. We once again thank you for your patience.”

Rumours of lost credit card details and hacks by the Anonymous collective, which last month brought PSN to its knees, remain rife. Either way, this is becoming seriously damaging and embarrassing for the Big S.
