Full Twitter integration in Apple's latest mobile operating system offering iOS 5 has seen sign up figures for the micro blogging site and Facebook rival triple, the company's CEO has confirmed
The recent arrival of Apple’s latest mobile operating system iOS 5 has seen Twitter sign up figures triple the CEO of the micro blogging site has revealed.
Speaking at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco yesterday Twitter CEO Dick Costolo announced that following the rollout of iOS 5 last Wednesday, October 12th, and the launch of the iOS 5 packing Apple iPhone 4S on the Friday, three times as many new users have been signing up to the Facebook rival.

Fully integrating Twitter into its latest portable operating system, Apple has made the 140 character social outlet available to users of the iPhone, iPad and iPod at every turn with pictures able to be sent direct to Twitter alongside Google Maps locations.
Whilst outing the increased effect iOS 5 has had on Twitter sign ups Costolo revealed that a staggering 250,000 tweets are being send on a daily basis, up from 90 million tweets per day this time last year and 100 million at the start of 2011.
