Nokia N8 given UK release date... at last
Finnish phone manufacturer Nokia has finally given its forthcoming flagship handset and apparent ‘saviour’ a UK release date as the repeatedly delayed Nokia N8 readies for an October 22nd arrival.
Almost six months since the N8 was first announced the handset has been confirmed as landing on the Three, O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone mobile networks in the UK on October 22nd with extra eager Nokia fans able to splash out £429 to get the device SIM-free direct from the online Nokia store a week earlier on October 15th.
The Symbian 3 powered handset that features a 3.5-inch capacitive OLED display and 12-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities was originally shown in April but has faced numerous delays with Nokia stating it would not release the handset until it was fully ready.
The N8, which looked set to save Nokia from a run of mediocre handsets when first announced now looks likely to enter a market full of fierce competition from the likes of the Apple iPhone 4 and the new HTC Desire HD.
