LG to update last year's KS360 mobile with Android this summer

Last year's slide-out QWERTY number gets an Android update

LG has confirmed at Mobile World Congress that the KS360, first announced last July, will be the first handset it releases running Google's Android OS - and it'll launch this summer.

The specs will stay the same as the existing KS360, but it will have the open source operating system that we've seen on the G1, so will be open to a host of user-designed apps. The KS360 handset features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and 2.0-megapixel camera.

LG will also release another two Android phones this year, Marketing Manager Jeremy Newing told T3, following the KS360 Android this summer.

"This year is all about social networking," said Newing, "and Android obviously opens a world of possibilities."

Fantastic, but it seems us grown-ups will have to wait a while longer for a desirable Android handset. Yesteryear's budget handset updated with Android platform? LG, we expected more from you.

I have purchased LG KS360 mobilephone, from a price compare website, http://www.payasyougomobilephones.mobi

This device is so clover it can easily challange the iphone, the only part i dont like about the phone is that it running with Android mobile OS, if they run someting like Symbian OS then i beleve this phone can be more popular.
