The long awaited GTA V release date will reportedly be unveiled on June 4th ahead of E3 2012 with an October 23rd release tipped
One of the most hotly tipped titles on the upcoming gaming scene, developer Rockstar is to officially confirm an October 23rd GTA V release date on the day before June’s E3 2012 expo, new reports have suggested.
Long speculated as to whether or not the next Grand Theft Auto offering would land before the year’s end or in the early part of 2013, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter suggesting Rockstar will confirm plans for an October GTA V release in the lead up to E3.
Suggesting the Red Dead Redemption developer will forgo the usual E3 unveiling in favour of an exclusive event the day before the iconic LA based expo opens, Pachter has suggested Rockstar will confirm an October 23rd arrival in the coming weeks.
"They've outgrown the show. I think they're way too cool to go," he said. "My read on those guys is they like stealing the thunder from everything else. So if I had to bet I'd say you'd get an announcement on GTA 5 the day before E3 starts, that'd be Monday June 4. They don't show up and that's all anybody can do is talk about GTA 5 at the show."
GTA V UK Release Date
Far from the first time the long speculated GTA V release date has been called into question, Rockstar’s silence on the matter has sparked speculation that the next addition to the hugely successful GTA franchise will in fact not touch down until as late as March of 2013 as opposed to the previously tipped, and hugely lucrative, pre-Christmas arrival.
Adding fuel to the ever fluctuating fire, a freelance developer working with Rockstar North recently told Dutch blog Gameliner that the GTA V release date has been pushed from October to December due to delays in the title’s development process.
Touted as a serial tipster, it is believed the latest reports have emerged courtesy of the same developer who previously posted an October arrival time via his LinkdIn profile before it was hastily removed via Rockstar.
Arguably the largest GTA 5 rumour to date, actor Ned Luke is tipped to play the game’s currently unnamed, but reportedly title Albert De Silva, lead character after the title appeared on his IMDB profile before making a speedy exit.
Set to be held in a virtual rendition of Los Angeles, further GTA V rumours have suggested the title will see the return of GTA San Andreas lead character CJ with further details expected to be officially unveiled at E3 2012 in June.
