Angry Birds loses top spot in Apple App Store
Rovio's bestselling game replaced by The Heist
Rovio’s Angry Birds, has been knocked off the top of Apple’s App Store in the US after a staggering 275 days in pole position.
The bird-flinging mega app is replaced by puzzle game The Heist, developed by MacHeist, which reportedly sold 25,233 versions of the app in half a day pushing Angry Birds out of first position.
In the UK, The Heist also took top spot, leaving Angry Birds fifth in the most popular paid app charts.
The game takes users through 60 different puzzles, each split into four categories with the ultimate aim being to gain access to a vault. Both apps cost £0.59.
Gamers have commented on the game’s addictive gameplay and the free rewards provided throughout. Users who have completed The Heist receive another free game in return.
