The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 price war has officially kicked off, with supermarket Goliath Sainsburys and highstreet games retailer GameStation offering the first-person shooter for under £40
With six months still to go until it hits stores, price wars for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 have already kicked off with supermarket giant Sainsbury’s now offering the release for a pre-order price of £36.
Hitting pre-order earlier this month, a number of key online retailers are now offering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ahead of its launch on November 8th with leaks of the game’s storyline having already outed the fact that levels will take place in New York, London, Berlin and Paris.
With Xbox 360 and PS3 releases of Modern Warfare 3 touting a £54.99 RRP, retailers have already begun undercutting each other in an attempt to attract the largest pre-order numbers. Whilst Amazon.co.uk has Modern Warfare 3 available priced at £42.91, GAME is offering the release for £39.99.
Offering a 20 per cent discount to its first 500 pre-orders retailer Sainsbury’s is offering the upcoming addition to the Call of Duty franchise for just £36. Prices and deals for what will arguably be the biggest game of the year are expected to drop in the coming months ahead of the title’s formal pre-Christmas release.
