Kit using Apple and Intel’s superfast Thunderbolt smarts has been MIA ever since the transfer tech first landed on the latest MacBook Pros and iMacs. But that’s all changed, with storage systems and cables now up for grabs on the Apple store.

Promise has released a string of multi-terabyte solutions which use Thunderbolt. The Promise Pegasus R4 4TB costs £769 here in the UK and ships in two to three weeks. US punters can snag one in just 24 hours.

The Pegasus R4 8TB costs £1,089, while the Pegasus R6 6TB and Pegasus R6 12TB cost £1,089 and £1,399 respectively. Meanwhile, the new Thunderbolt cable from Apple is available too, costing £39.
