While a fantastic evening all round (even if we do say so ourselves), for many guests at the T3 Gadget Awards 2010 last night the highlight of the show was national treasure Stephen Fry flashing his iPhone 4. Not a euphemism, but almost as exciting, being as it was the much-coveted and oft-delayed white model.
After talking a bit about the evening's earlier Windows Phone 7 launch which he had also attended, Fry reached into his pocket on stage to pull out the handset he'd been gifted by Microsoft, only to reveal instead (by mistake, of course) the white version of T3's Commuter Gadget of the Year and runner-up Phone of the Year.
Fry, a picture of surprise and contrition, then dropped the pretense and taunted the audience with a nee-ner nee-ner "only one in Europe" jibe, before retiring the handset back into his suit pocket and continuing his speech.
So, is Stephen Fry testing a revamped version of the troubled white iPhone 4? Is this a sign that the iPhone 4 white edition might drop in time for Christmas? You'll know when we do. In the meantime, you can take a look at the rest of the awards ceremony here.
