LG stretches the point

Two new TVs need Wide Load warnings, strictly no overtaking

On a roll with its champagne flavoured home cinema system and well-received range of fashion tellies, LG has gone out on a limb (way out wide in fact) and stretched things to their elastic limit with these wide boy screens.

The 29-inch and 38-inch screens are aimed at business and commercial sites like footie stadiums rather than at home for a spot of East Enders action (can you imagine how wide Pat would look on one of these? Shudder), and can display horizontally and vertically.

Both are high resolution, the 38-inch M3800S-BN sporting a 1366x480 display and the 29-inch M2900S-BN a 1366x398 resolution, with 1000:1 contrast ratio and 9ms response time. In other words, good for basic display type stuff but rubbish for movies, gaming and anything even remotely resembling HD.

No mention of price despite the imminent release likely means, if you need to ask you aren't a company and shouldn't bother.

Our advice? Stick to a 50-inch KURO and you won't stray too far wrong.
