Google Doodles have become a staple part of the search engine, however this example is by far their most intricate yet and it's all the better for it...

Stanislaw Lem, the iconic science-fiction writer best known for writing the classic 'Solaris' has been commemorated with his very own Google Doodle.

The Doodle is by far and away their most complex yet and features a interactive game in which you take a animated Lem on a journey through a fantastical world involving math and puzzles.

Created to celebrate 60-years since the authors first book was published it has been hailed as Google's most complex Doodle yet and is a fitting tribute to the writer who passed away in 2006 from heart disease.

As you'll see in our round up of the best Google Doodles, the search giant has been creating extravagant doodles for some time now, with the best including the recent Halloween doodle that featured a stop-motion images of giant pumpkins being carved and of course to celebrate Pac Man Google turned into a mini version of the game.
