A cheap GoPro deal can make these feature-rich, ultra-rugged action cams that much more affordable. This article is dedicated to helping you find the lowest prices for any of the incredible cams in GoPro's range.
One key way to save, in the short term at least, is to subscribe to GoPro. If you purchase through GoPro, all the cams are significantly (up to GBP £100 / USD $100) cheaper for existing GoPro subscribers. If you're not a subscriber, you can choose the 'with subs' options for that same lower price and you'll get a 1-year GoPro subscription thrown in (afterwards it'll cost you USD $49.99 / GBP £49.99 / AUD $70 annually). While competitors have caused a few ripples in the market over the years, GoPro still dominates the top half of our best action camera ranking. Currently at #1 is the new flagship, the GoPro HERO 10 Black, which brings with it multiple welcome internal updates over its predecessor, the also-excellent GoPro HERO 9 Black. That was the first model to introduce the long-awaited front-facing camera. But to be perfectly honest, most people could pick any model from GoPro's range and they wouldn't be disappointed.
In this article, you'll find the best prices across the full range of cameras. Our dedicated widgets search all reputable retailers to bring you the best prices at all times. And if you haven't fully got your heart set on a GoPro, you could check out our ranking of the best cheap action cameras for some wallet-friendly alternatives.
How to choose the right GoPro for you
With multiple GoPro camera models available, choosing which GoPro is right for you can leave your head in a spin. Our best GoPro guide will walk you through the differences between the models, but here's a quick summary:
There are four GoPro action cameras in the current range. The GoPro HERO 8 Black (good) was released in October 2019, the GoPro HERO 9 Black (better) came out in September 2020, and the GoPro HERO 10 Black (best) was released in September 2021.
There's also the GoPro MAX, a 360-degree action cam that replaces the GoPro Fusion. Some older GoPro models, such as the 2018 GoPro HERO 7 Black and White, have been discontinued by GoPro are still on sale at third party retailers.
We've put together a guide to exactly what you can (and can't) do with a GoPro, for more info. GoPro has a Trade-Up Programme that enables you to swap up any previous-generation GoPro, or ANY other digital camera, to receive a decent discount on a newer model.

GoPro HERO 10 Black deals
The GoPro HERO 10 Black is available to buy from GoPro.com and from select retail partners around the world. This is the most powerful, usable and feature-rich action camera on the market, from any brand. While it looks very similar to the H9, this camera packs some significant internal upgrades, most of which are thanks to the new GP2 processor. This camera is slick and speedy, with a quicker boot and faster transfers. There's a significant bump in image quality, with frame rates doubled over the HERO 9 Black at higher resolutions. And the lens cover is now hydrophobic, too.
As such a new camera, we might not see any major discounts right now. However, scroll down to our live prices below to double-check – you might be pleasantly surprised.
GoPro HERO 9 Black deals
The GoPro HERO 9 Black is our second favourite action camera right now. This cam has one significant, visible difference over the HERO 8 Black: it's the first in the range to include an integrated front-facing full-colour screen. That addition will be a must-have for vloggers who want to frame their self-taped footage properly. On the flip side, it's not quite as speedy and slick as the HERO 10 (there's no GP 2 processor here). You're getting the same frameless design and 'bunny ears' mount as the cams either side of it in the lineup, and a good rule of thumb is that it's slightly better in almost every way than the H8, and not quite as good in almost every way as the H10.
We'd expect this camera to be attracting more discounts now it has been usurped by the HERO 10 black.
GoPro HERO 8 Black deals
The GoPro HERO 8 Black is available to buy from GoPro.com and from retail partners around the world. This camera picked up a T3 Award in 2020 and remains a strong recommendation, despite now being the oldest camera in the GoPro range. There's no front-facing camera here, but if you don't need that, this camera is still extremely capable. Compared to its predecessor – the HERO 7 Black – you're getting improved HDR, a LiveBurst photo option, frameless mounting, improved HyperSmooth 2.0 and TimeWarp 2.0 and more. Now an OAP within the GoPro HERO lineup, this is perhaps the best bet for deals and discounts. Check out the best deals in our widget below.
GoPro HERO 7 Black deals
The GoPro HERO 7 Black was released in September 2018 and is no longer included in GoPro's official range. You'll need to add a frame to mount this camera (the 'bunny ears' were introduced with the H8), nor is there a front-facing screen (introduced with the H9) or the H10's new processor. But what you will get is a very powerful, extremely robust and capable action cam... and a great way to save some cash if you don't need those latest and greatest features.
Over the course of 2021, the cheapest we've seen the HERO 7 Black for at Amazon UK is £207, although it wasn't that price for long at all. We'd consider anything around the £230 mark a great deal. In the US, this model has dropped to around $250 at Amazon.

GoPro MAX deals
The GoPro Max is a versatile 360-degree action cam that replaces the GoPro Fusion. It was was released shortly after the HERO8 Black in October 2019, and boasts the same frameless mounting system. It has an RRP of £479.99/$499.99.
The Max is better than the Fusion in every respect, and offers with many of the most popular HERO features, including such as Hypersmooth stabilisation and TimeWarp time-lapse video cababilites. With this model, you're also able to flip between front and rear views using the Max’s touchscreen.

That's it for the GoPros currently still in production and being sold by GoPro. For easy comparison, these are the current cheapest prices for each model in your region right now.
Below, we've listed prices for older models of GoPro action cameras. Many of these are still extremely capable and with features that'll handle basic shooting needs with ease. Because we update our prices every day, if one of them does suddenly get a big price cut, you'll see it in the tables below.
The best GoPro HERO 7 White deals
The HERO7 White was GoPro's 2019 entry level camera, replacing the (unnumbered) GoPro HERO. In 2019 and 2020 it picked up the T3 Award in the Budget Action Camera category. It can shoot HD (1080p60 video), which is the resolution that the older HERO shoots at. The HERO7 White sold for $199/£179.99 on GoPro's site and you can see the best discounts right now. As the cheapest camera in the range it was also the one that tended to get the smaller, and less frequent, discounts although given its age it's now getting better discounts, with $175/£135 or under being a good discounted price.
GoPro HERO 7 Silver deals
The GoPro HERO 7 Silver replaced the HERO 5 Black in September 2018. Like the HERO 5 Black, it features a 10 megapixel camera which can capture 4K footage at up to 30fps. This model is no longer in production and no longer sold by GoPro, but you can still pick one up from other retailers – and for absolutely bargain prices. Check out today's best HERO 7 Silver GoPro deals below.
The best GoPro HERO6 Black deals
GoPro debuted the HERO6 Black in September 2017, with a launch price of $499/£399. It featured 60fps 4K video recording and beefed-up image stabilisation thanks to a new, custom-designed processor. Prices have dropped since then by a good hundred bucks or so, making this very appealing indeed. In addition to the features above, the HERO6 brought improved dynamic range and low-light performance plus an added digital zoom (there are RAW and HDR photo modes).
It's also ruggedised and waterproof to 10 meters without a dedicated waterproof. There are also faster offload speeds when compared with the Hero 5, thanks to 5GHz 802.11ac Wi-Fi. This means you'll be able to download and share your captured footage quicker and more easily.

The best GoPro HERO5 Black deals
The GoPro HERO5 Black was introduced in September 2016 with a launch price of $399/£349. Found at around the £240 mark in some places, this is a real deal to grab.
This once-popular action camera has a touchscreen for super-simple control and is water resistant without a housing case. Like the HERO5 Session, the HERO5 Black offers video recording up to 4K and the option for you to change the Field of View (FOV). Options include: SuperView, Wide, Medium, Narrow and Linear. With this camera, GoPro recognised that not everyone wanted the wide fish-eye look every time.
Unlike the HERO5 Session, the HERO5 Black offers the highest frame rates of the HERO5 range, in certain resolutions, and offers a higher resolution sensor. It also has professional grade low-light performance and ultra-sharp image quality with reduced distortion. However, the HERO5 Black is bigger than the HERO5 Session, so keep that in mind if size is a consideration for you.

The best GoPro Fusion deals
5.2K spherical video and 18MP spherical photos! That's what you can capture using GoPro Fusion, with gimbal-like stabilisation makes footage smooth. The GoPro Fusion was released in November 2017 for $699/£699. It got a dramatic price drop to £379.99 on the official GoPro site, but there are deals out there that may get you it even cheaper.
The GoPro app’s OverCapture feature can recapture and share your spherical shot as a traditional fixed perspective video. It's waterproof to 5m.
GoPro Karma Drone
GoPro has even got its own drone in the range. This can be bought as a stand alone drone or as a bundle with whichever camera you want – although usually the latest. This isn't a cheap drone, nor is it rated as the best drones out there, with a lot more smarts in the likes of the DJI range. But if you're Team GoPro and want to take to the skies, this is the drone for you.
The GoPro Karma Drone was out there in the early days (along with a Hero5 Black) for around £900. Now you can find it a lot cheaper so it's worth grabbing a deal on this if you can.
GoPro Black Friday GoPro deals: what you need to know
Our automatic price widgets monitor the prices from all reputable retailers and shows you the cheapest place to buy. The holiday sales are a great time to pick up a bargain on tech. Every year we report on any GoPro Black Friday deals as soon as they drop, but in recent years, the deals have been very thin on the ground.
In 2021, GoPro knocked £50/$50 off the then-flagship GoPro HERO 10 Black. The discount was on the already-reduced GoPro subscription price. The offers that appeared in 2020 were minimal or in line with the kinds of price drops we see all year round. Both years, we also saw some good price drops on GoPro bundles – but the value there very much depends on if you need what's being bundled in.
In 2019 in the US, we saw $50 off the then-new HERO 8 Black at Amazon for Black Friday, as well as $100 off the HERO 7 Silver. Walmart also knocked $60 off the HERO 7 White. In the UK, bundle deals were where it was at in 2019, with similar HERO 8 bundle offers from John Lewis, Currys and Very. Currys also knocked £80 off a HERO 7 Black bundle.
Are there GoPro deals on Amazon Prime Day?
In past years, GoPro Amazon Prime Day deals have been a bit hit and miss, and they tend to focus on bundles, so their value will depend if that bundle includes extras that are useful to you. In 2021, there was one notable GoPro deal: £80 off the GoPro Hero 8 Black bundle, with head strap and tripod mounts. This deal was cheaper than buying the H8 on its own at both Amazon and at GoPro direct.
In 2020, Amazon knocked £67 off the GoPro Hero 9 with extension pole, which was okay didn't blow anyone's socks off, given it had only very recently been released and was still pretty expensive.
EXPIRED GoPro HERO 8 Black bundle | Now £249.99 | Was £329.99 | Save £80 at Amazon UK
Prime Day 2021
For Prime subscribers (or those who've signed up for the free trial) there's 25% off this HERO 8 Black bundle at Amazon. This includes the action camera, official GoPro 'Shorty' extension pole / tripod, head strap, a spare battery and 32GB Micro SD card. The HERO 8 Black is 2020's flagship, and an absolutely excellent model. With this offer, it's also cheaper than buying the camera on its own.
