Switching to the best cheap energy deal isn't just about saving money. As well as highlighting the cheapest energy deals in your area, we've also picked out excellent green deals across England, Scotland and Wales from the best green energy suppliers. Sometimes the cheapest energy deals are green, but where they're not we've highlighted an alternative green option too. And if the cheapest deal is a standard variable rate tariff, we've also included the cheapest fixed-rate option.
All the prices are calculated according to a typical household’s annual fuel consumption: 12,000kWk of gas and 2,900kWh of electricity. The savings have been benchmarked against the energy price cap of £1,042 per year - which came into force on October 1.
Please remember that you may save more, or less, depending on your current situation.
And don't forget that energy prices vary across the country and depending on use: to find the very best energy deal for your household, and see the exact savings you'll make by switching, you'll need to run a quick energy comparison. (Luckily, using a service like ours takes less than five minutes.) In the meantime, our curation of the best energy deals across the UK right now will give you a good indication of what's currently available...
* At least 51% of customers that applied to switch saved at least £302.30 between Jan 1 and March 31, 2020.

How to find the cheapest energy deals
It’s not easy keeping track of the cheapest energy tariffs. New deals and even new companies emerge regularly which means you need to constantly review offers that are available right now. It’s a headache, but the truth is the deal you chose last week might not be the cheapest one in your area today. There’s a reason 2.03 million gas customers and 2.49 million electricity customers switched suppliers between January and May of last year.
The best way to know what’s out there is to run an energy comparison via an impartial price comparison website.
