What will Opal and Topaz be called when they get official?
webOS tablets: more names revealed
HP has registered three new trademarks for its incoming set of webOS tablets. While the pair have been labelled as Opal and Topaz in-house, HP has got dibs on the names TouchPad, TouchCanvas and DuoPad.
These three new monikers follow PalmPad and TouchPad, suggesting HP itself still isn’t clear what it’s going to call the 9-inch Opal and 7-inch Topaz when it hands over details at an event on 9 February.
A release date is not expected until the middle of summer at the earliest, with previous reports claiming we could have to wait until as late as September to lay our hands on one.
