The votes are in and the Game of the Year for the Golden Joystick Awards goes to…Mass Effect 2. Even though it was released in the middle of the gaming year (May 09 to May 10) and had to face off against tough competitors like Assassin’s Creed 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it has still come out on top.

To no surprise Bioware’s epic sequel also won the prize for Best Role-Playing Game of the Year, further intensifying its universal success. The Golden Joystick Awards is the biggest and most popular video games awards in the world, which must make it a true victory and great honour for all people involved in putting together Mass Effect 2.
