A Gears of War game compatible with Kinect is rumoured to be in the works, which would support Microsoft's intentions that the motion-sensing controller will appeal to more than just casual gamers.
IGN have been tipped off by an unnamed but 'realiable' source who claims that a Kinect-friendly Gears of War title will be unveiled at the Spike TV Video Games Awards next month, amongst other notable game announcements. There was no indication whether this would be an entirely new game or a previous title given Kinect support.
Since the tip off was revealed, Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski tweeted,"No Kinect in Gears of War 3", which could suggest if the rumours are true that it will be a brand new GOW title.
Giving the multiplayer shooter its place amongst Kinectimals and Joyride would clearly help to ensure that Kinect has genuine hardcore gaming credentials.
Microsoft and Gears of War developers Epic Games have yet to comment on whether the game is set for release.
