Activision have confirmed that Zombies will return, appearing in the upcoming title Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Most fondly remembered from Call of Duty: World at War, the zombie levels pitched players against waves of the undead creating a co-op phenomenon that was fun, addictive and at times genuinely scary.

Treyarch’s Mark Lamia was keen to reassure fans that it would still be business as usual, saying ‘We've taken extra special care to retain the essential ingredients of our Zombie game, and have also crafted a nice surprise for the fans’.

Activision has also confirmed that you can look forward to seeing four classic maps from World at War being lovingly updated and revamped for Black Ops.
