Google Chrome is slowly winning the war against Mozilla's Firefox to become the second most popular web browser, behind Internet Explorer, by the end of this year
According to data released by StatCounter, Chrome has grown in use by 50% and will move past Firefox by December 2011. The data revealed Chrome has a global user share of 23.6% in Septmeber, with Firefox at 26.8% and Internet Explorer leading at 41.7%.
If this increasing trend continues, the firm estimates Chrome will match Firefox in November and race past it by the end of 2011.
While Chrome has increased its market share since the beginning of this year, both Firefox and Internet Explorer have shown a decline of 13% and 9% respectively.
Other firms have been registering similar trends.
