Three launches ZTE Racer Android smartphone

First budget Android smartphone under £100

Three has released in partnership with ZTE their lowest priced Android powered smartphone; The Racer

ZTE, a company which holds only 3% of the UK mobile market, is hoping to drastically improve this statistic with the 'Racer', a Android 2.1 powered smartphone which will bridge the gap between phone and smartphone.

Released through mobile network 'Three', the Racer has a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, 3.2 megapixel camera and HSDPA capability. It will run Android 2.1 and comes with a 2GB memory card. While these specs may not be mind-blowing, for a smidge under £100 and with Spotify Premium included, it's clear what ZTE and Three are hoping to achieve.

The Racer is the first of what ZTE hopes will be many more models that will pack Google's hugely capable OS yet still remain lighter on the wallet.

The ZTE Racer is available now and prices start at £99.99 on Three.
