Jawbone has cast aside the shadows and released further details on its intriguing Jawbone UP with the recently unveiled wrist wearable bangle set to monitor a series of parameters to boost user’s health and wellbeing.
Officially unveiled last month little information as to how the Jawbone UP worked was offered by the Bluetooth headset and speaker specialist with further details now emerging ahead of the device’s US release.
Jawbone UP Features
Helping you “stay engaged in reaching your health goals” the Jawbone UP is capable of measuring user’s activity levels from the number of steps taken to calories burned via information on distance covered and pace set.
Ensuring user’s health is measured in all facets of life the Jawbone UP is also set to keep track on sleeping and eating habits with the band’s inbuilt motion engine tracking users sleep patterns in order to wake them at the optimal time. Working alongside an iPhone and iPod application UP users will be able to snap images of their meals with the system using the information garnered to fully break down and monitor your daily health.
"As the global health crisis mounted, we felt a strong sense of responsibility to see if we could leverage our resources, talents, and ecosystem to try and help make a difference," said Hosain Rahman, Jawbone CEO and Founder. "UP is Jawbone's first step in giving people tools to become engaged as consumers of their own health. It's a complete system designed to integrate seamlessly into one's total lifestyle, 24 hours a day, not just the few times a week people may work out.
Jawbone UP Release Date and Price
Set to launch in the US this Sunday, November 6th the Jawbone Up is to land with a rather reasonable $99.99 price tag (£62.87). Whilst it has yet to be officially announced it is expected a Jawbone UP UK release date will follow in the coming weeks.
