HTC Desire S UK launch set for O2 network

Android 2.4-toting smartphone UK-bound 'later this year'

New Desire S UK release date expected in late 2011

The HTC Desire S, the follow-up to the T3 Phone of the Year is set to be available on O2 according to the mobile network provider’s official Twitter feed.

Unveiled at a press conference this morning at MWC 2011 alongside the HTC Flyer Android tablet, HTC Wildfire 2, and two HTC Facebook phones, the tweet from O2 reads:

“Great news for HTC fans – the HTC Desire S is coming to O2 later this year.”

The Desire S will land with Android 2.4, a new 1GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood, a front facing VGA colour fixed focus camera, and a sleek aluminium unibody inspired by the HTC Legend.
