The first downloadable content pack (DCL) for the biggest entertainment release of 2010, Call of Duty: Black Ops has been announced with the new environment providing add-on set to launch February 1st.
Due to land exclusively on the Xbox 360 on the opening day of February the first CoD: Black Ops DLC, dubbed First Strike, is expected to be made available for PS3 and PC gamers the following month much to the annoyance of PlayStation touting Black Ops adopters who have repeatedly criticised the release’s Microsoft console bias.
The additional downloadable content which will set wannabe owners back 1,200 Microsoft Points (£10.20) will feature four new multiplayer maps and an additional Zombie mode map entitled Ascension. The multiplayer level additions include Kowloon city in China, Discovery a German Antarctic research post, Berlin Wall and Stadium and are all outlined in the video release that accompanies the DLC announcement.
Call of Duty: Black Ops originally launched back in November quickly eclipsing all previous gaming releases of 2010 and surpassing its predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in terms of units sold and money generated.
