Xbox Live Arcade getting revamp

New look and recommendation engine incoming

Fresh design hits US next week, but no word on global roll out.

Xbox Live Arcade is getting the decorators in. Microsoft’s virtual games store will have a new look from 14 July. Dubbed ‘Destination Arcade’, it’s set to rock a new interface more in keeping with the Xbox Experience home page.

On top of the cosmetics, there’s also some neat stuff going on underneath. You’ll be able to view recommendations based on your existing games, as well as check out what your pals are playing.

Searching for games is also set to become easier, with offerings categorised by player rating and price. There’s only one snag: it’s a US only release, with plans to unleash the update here still unclear.
