It's the general consensus that Apple makes the best tablets around, and as you can tell from our iPad Air (2022) review, this is one of the best of the best: more powerful than the entry-level iPad, more affordable than the high-end iPad Pro, the Air really does hit the sweet spot when it comes to an Apple slate.

To add to the appeal, Walmart is suddenly offering a great $120 off the fifth-gen iPad Air right now, knocking it all the way down to $449. We've run the necessary checks, and this is the lowest this classy Apple tablet has ever been, so it's the perfect opportunity to grab one of the best iPads around.
10.9-inch iPad Air (2022): was $569, now $449 at Walmart
The most recent iPad Air brings with it a gorgeous 10.9-inch screen running at a resolution of 2360 x 1640 pixels, with support for the 2nd-gen Apple Pencil. Under the hood there's the super-speedy Apple M1 chip, and there's a handy 12MP camera on the back too.
Amongst the highlights we mentioned in our iPad Air review, there's the "ridiculous amounts of power" offered by the M1 chip (fast enough to power a full laptop, don't forget), and the ever-improving iPadOS – there really isn't any better tablet software out there at the moment.
You've got a good choice of colors to pick from, and it's hard to argue against this being a beautifully designed tablet – at a mere 0.24in (6.1mm) thick. It comes with USB-C too, like all of Apple's most recent tablets and smartphones, so you won't be stuck when it comes to chargers and accessories.
The tablet comes with a battery that's going to last you all day between charges, which is handy for working away from your desk (or just watching movies on the sofa). Like all of Apple's iPads, you can quickly attach a physical keyboard and use this as a makeshift laptop when you need to as well.
All this, and for the lowest price it's ever been at – there are plenty of great reasons to make this your next tablet upgrade. Coming from Apple, you can be sure it's going to last you, and it's backed up by a bunch of reliable digital services, including iCloud and Apple Music.
