Samsung is all set to reveal its latest slate, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 today. But with the official announcement still hours away, the chaps at PocketNow have managed to nab details of the tablet, which is being unveiled at the CTIA show in the US.
The new effort comes with an 8.9-inch screen (hardly a surprise) with a 1200 x 800 resolution, measures just 8.6mm thin (0.2mm thinner than the iPad 2) and tips the scales at just 470g. The iPad 2 Wi-Fi model weighs a hefty 601g by comparison.
There’s also a 1GHz processor inside, along with Android Honeycomb. However, Samsung says it has customised the latter with its own UX, which includes a ‘Live Panels’ UI, app switching using a ‘Mini App Tray’ feature and custom widgets.
Full details will be revealed later, so stay tuned to T3.com for news as we get it.
