Apple attacks iTunes and the software front today as it announces a surprise iTunes event will be held at 3pm GMT tomorrow that "you'll never forget". Lofty words from the Cupertino company. The news of the announcement comes after it emerged that the iOS 4.2 update has been delayed until November 24th. Something that looks to have passed its delays, however, is iAds the in-app advertising system set to be launched across Europe by Apple this week.

Gadget price reductions have been all the rage today as some of the hottest recent releases get a hefty wedge of their price tags removed. First off was the Samsung Galaxy Tab which has dropped well below the £500 mark thanks to Amazon and Dixons. This is followed by Kinect now priced £235 with an Xbox 360 at Tesco and the PSP Go which has also been on the receiving end of a price cut. Wallet friendliness all round.

HTC Desire dominance continues as the latest Desire incarnation the HTC Desire HD has been declared the best new Android handset by you the faithful T3 reader. This comes on the same day that Virgin Media has stopped shuffling its feet and offered its HTC Desire users the Android 2.2, FroYo, update that landed on fellow networks months ago. About time really.

Gaming's future giants have been out in force a lot as of late with today acting no different as Gran Turismo 5 Course Maker leaked ahead of the game's November 24th global launch. The GT5 outing is joined by news from Nintendo that the second coming of the Wii, the Wii 2, will not land in 2011 or until the original console sales top 45 million units.
