Rejigged keyboard and tinkered interior for sequel to top-end Android phone.
Motorola Droid 2 leaked in full
The Motorola Droid 2 has been leaked in all its glory overnight, showing off a tweaked handset that’s bound to get hardcore Android obsessives salivating.
The Droid, known on these shores as the Motorola Milestone, was widely hailed as a success, but was still not quite up to scratch thanks to a directional pad that made typing on the slide out QWERTY a less than pleasant experience.

The new Droid 2, though, dispenses with the d-pad, instead extending the keyboard and widening the keys themselves, which are now more rounded to stave off complaints that they were hard-to-use on the original.
The screen remains a 3.7-inch capacitive touch number, with a 5 megapixel round the back. Sadly though, word has it this is stuck on Android 2.1, with a FroYo version not expected at launch. Rumour also has it the Droid 2 will run MotoBLUR, eschewing Moto’s usual move of putting vanilla Android on its top end handsets.
There’s no word on a UK release, but stay tuned for news as we get it.
