Amazon Kindle to introduce new gaming platform?

Microsoft's gaming head move to Amazon fuels speculation

Kindle gaming on the horizon from Amazon?

Further fuelling the rumour mill that has been abuzz recently with an upcoming gaming push from Amazon, Microsoft’s Director of Game Platform Strategy, Andre Vrignaud has moved to the online retailer suggesting the Kindle could soon be hosting a gaming platform.

Adding to the speculation, Vrignaud announced his move from Microsoft to Amazon on Friday via his personal blog stating: “Can't really talk about details at this point, but it'll become pretty evident soon enough... and you all know where my passions lie.” He went on to add that he is: “excited about where Microsoft is going in the next few years [but] very intrigued about what Amazon is looking to do.”

Earlier this year a vacancy for a “stealth project” appeared on Amazon’s listings in its digital video game business. This vacancy has since been added to with a number of game-centric opportunities now available with the global shopping website.

With more than 20 years experience in the gaming industry, the last eight of which were spent transforming Microsoft from a gaming wannabe to gaming giant, Vrignaud’s move to Amazon suggests a big push from the retailer in the near future with the hugely popular kindle a likely output.
