Pure reveals Sensia - touch-screen wi-fi radio

It is round because you will want to go to sleep cuddling it

Pure's stunning new Sensia digital radio covers literally every single tech base it's possible to imagine, even in today's bonkers world of multi-tasking gadgetry.

At its core, Sensia is a DAB, FM and streaming wi-fi radio, with decent 30W speakers for doing justice to whatever genre of music you happen to favour today. It is also quite pretty, dumping Pure's usual boxy design style for something a little easier on the eye, less wooden, and more 1970s than 1950s in style.

But the face of the thing is one vast, screamingly-modern capacitive touch-screen, with support for custom apps that use the machine's wi-fi access point to let users get music and station data while listening, and also play with Pure's new custom apps.

Twitter support is the headline application, with Pure's app letting you read - but not update - Twitter streams as you hum along with Dizzee, plus Facebook and Picasa browsers are also promised before the thing launches.

The Sensia will weigh in at the upper end of today's internet radio price range at around £250 - plus an extra £35 for the optional battery pack if you want to listen to it while barricaded in the garden shed.
