With gaming, every now and then, a piece of news comes along that will have the game lovers in the office standing with their jaws open. Microsoft has unveiled the Xbox 360 S Halo Reach Edition. Now that may sound like a mouthful, but believe me, when you see it you’ll forgive the stupidly long name. Swathed in matt silver this thing looks like it was fashioned from the armour plating of the Death Star. You want more? Sony has announced that the PS Move will utilise 3D gaming after it’s been released in October/November, we’re unsure as to what titles this would include, but when we know, you’ll know.

Surfing online can be a dangerous thing, especially if you’re using Safari it seems. Users are being asked to check their default settings on Safari after it has been found there is a weakness in the auto-fill feature. Whilst timesaving, the feature actually accesses all the information in your address book in an effort to save you the time; this could then be used by hackers.

Social networking news now:A survey by Askmen has found that 50% of men think Twitter is utterly pointless. Whilst these figures are shocking indeed, if you actually think about how many men use Twitter, how many of them are using it even though they think it’s ‘pointless’. Tut tut.

The mobile world will be eagerly anticipating the arrival of a certain Finnish company’s handset later this year. In a bold statement  Nokia’s CEO has claimed that the N8 will be the ‘saviour of the company’. He believes that with the arrival of both the phone and Symbian 3, the company will be able to claw back some of the profits it’s been losing recently. Apple has confirmed it has had to delay the arrival of the White iPhone 4 until well past its July release date. The general rumour is that due to the heat from the battery it would stain the colour if they used the original formula.

The world of tech is a broad and often surprising thing, which is in part, why we have so many random stories under this section. Sony has unveiled what it describes as the first 360-degree 3D display. Called an autostereoscopic display, it uses a hugely advanced set of LED lights to project what is essentially a ‘true’ 3D image which you can see from any angle. This story has it all, a Victorian-esque name and the prospect of a gadget that I think we’ve all been waiting for.
