Grand Theft Auto V may miss a March release window, according to according to a report provided to investors
Grand Theft Auto V, the latest planned entry in Rockstar's world-conquering sandbox adventure game series, may not get a release until late next year according to report release to investors. Colin Sebastian, an analyst with Robert W. Baird released a note to investors stating that he has concerns about GTA V getting a March 2013 release.
In an interview with gaming website Gamespot, Sebastian said, "By no means am I convinced that it will miss March, but there are a couple of factors to consider. One, we haven't heard anything definitive from the company on release timing. Second, retailers typically would want 4-6 months lead time to prepare for a launch as large as GTA, and from [what] I understand they haven't heard anything. Third, Rockstar rightly prioritizes game quality over release date, and this dynamic could shift timing."
Sebastian did say, however, that when GTA V is released he expects it to be a surefire hit, shipping anywhere between 12-14 million units during its first three months.
