Sony has announced a pair of exclusive Gran Turismo 5 launch editions including the high-end Signature Edition of the long awaited game that will cost diehard fans 179.99 Euros, a smidge under £150.

The extravagantly priced Signature Edition will account for its lofty price tag with a feast of limited edition content and Gran Turismo branded goodies. As well as coming with a copy of the most anticipated and long overdue gaming title in recent history, Signature Edition owners will receive a metal sculpted box finished in SLS AMG Obsidian Black as well as an exclusive Gran Turismo branded 1:43 model of the same car.

Completing the Signature package is a GT leather wallet, branded USB key, a GT metal key fob, exclusive coffee table book featuring the cars and locations from the game and a 200 page Apex drivers magazine. Joining these physical inclusions will be a host of additional game content including six ‘Stealth’ vehicles.

The fifth installment of the phenomenally popular Gran Turismo racing franchise was first demoed during the 2006 E3 expo but after years of delays and waiting was finally given an official launch date back in June that would see it hit PS3 consoles globally on November 2nd this year.

Joining the “strictly limited” release of the GT5 Signature Edition, Sony has annouced it will release a second, lower priced Collector’s Edition of the upcoming racing title. Priced 79.99 Euros, the Collector’s Edition will feature a commemorative slip case, exclusive vehicles and the Apex driver’s magazine. It will also uniqually host a set of five collector’s artcards in a shameless attempt by Sony to cash in on the title’s huge and devoted fanbase.
