Codemasters has confirmed that F1 2012 will be out for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on 21 September. The much-anticipated racing title includes a new Champions Mode and a Young Driver Test feature, the latter mimicking real life tests for up-and-coming F1 stars.
The Champions Mode, revealed last week, lets gamers take on each of F1’s current world champions in a series of different scenarios. Wannabe winners will first face Kimi Raikkonen, before putting the pedal to the metal against Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher.
The Young Test Drivers option is aimed at those playing for the first time and looking to take an easy approach to F1 2012, before taking on the best in a full-on race. There are also tutorial videos for each circuit.
The game includes the newest tracks and all the drivers from this year’s championship, which is currently being led by Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso.
