Wednesday announcement to bring new iPod touch?

iPod touch and iTV set for San Francisco debut tomorrow

Steve Jobs will once again take the stage in San Francisco on Wednesday for what Apple is calling a "special event", with a host of new products sure to be announced.

Hot off the rumour mill is speculation that a brand new iPod touch might be on the way, which will incorporate the iPhone's retina screen, as well as the dual cameras on the front and rear of the device.

Will we see new incarnatiuons of the iPod nano, iPod classic or iPod shuffle as we often have whenthe now-traditional September media event rolls around every year?

Speculation is also rife that Jobs is ready to have another crack at Apple TV, which will be renamed iTV, come with access to the App Store and a much friendlier $99 price tag. This is also rumoured to walk hand-in-hand with the launch of an iTunes TV rentals service, which will allow users to download their favourite shows for 99c a time.
