Steve Wozniak has attacked Apple's voice recognition software Siri stating he prefers Google's Android software to the iPhone 4S personal assistant
Although revealing that the iPhone is his primary handset Wozniak has spoken out on his unashamed love of Android devices stating that Google’s mobile OS performs voice recognition functions better that the iPhone 4S and its voice commanded personal assistant Siri.
“With the iPhone 4 I could press a button and [say] call my wife. Now on the 4S I can only do that when Siri can connect over the Internet. But many times it can’t connect. I’ve never had Android come back and say, ‘I can’t connect over the Internet.’”
Wozniak’s criticism is far from the first blemish on Siri’s record with a number of privacy and user issues surrounding the software since it landed in Beta form on the iPhone 4S late last year.
Whilst security concerns have seen undesired access to personal details gained by using Siri to bypass lock codes there have been a number of complaints that the personal assistant is unable to recognise and understand a number of regional accents.
