Some of Angry Birds’ rapid Android download figures can be attributed to the full game being made available free of charge on launch day by App provider GetJar. The App’s availability on GetJar proved so popular the free download site was repeatedly crashed before recording more than 1 million downloads in just three days.

Earlier this week it was revealed that the Christmas themed edition of Angry Birds would be made available on December 11th for free to all iPhone users who previous splashed out 59p on the Halloween styled app spin-off.
