Apple iPad 2 is undoubtedly the big talking point today following the device's official unveiling yesterday. With the device now out in the open Apple has released the full video of the launch event featuring a returning Steve Jobs whilst network provider O2 has announced it will not offer subsidised iPad 2 tablets in the UK despite rivals T-Mobile and Orange announcing they will.

Emerging app news with us today poses exciting possibilities for users of most key platforms. Whilst we take a closer look at the iMovie and GargeBand apps unveiled to launch alongside the second-generation iPad, reports suggest that RIM is to make the BlackBerry Messenger service available to Android and iOS handset users via a series of upcoming app releases.

Apple's non iPad news is still a top player with the Cupertino company making waves away from the newly announced iPad 2, well, sort of. Whilst it is confirmed that the new iPad 2 HDMI connector will also be compatible with your iPhone and iPod Touch devices, Apple saw its stock prices rise just minutes after Steve Jobs appeared on stage at the iPad 2 unveiling.
